From Academia to Entrepreneurship: The Inspirational Journey of Ms. Anastasia Acquah at KsTU

In a remarkable story of entrepreneurship and innovation, Ms. Anastasia Acquah, a former student of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU), has transformed her final-year project into a thriving business venture. Her journey is a testament to the power of education and the drive to make a meaningful impact.

Anastasia's academic path led her to pursue a Bachelor of Technology program in Pharmaceutical Sciences under the Faculty of Health Sciences at KsTU. Her journey to success began as a Top-up student after completing a Higher National Diploma (HND) program in Dispensing Technology at the same institution.

During her final year at KsTU, under the guidance of Prof. Samuel Osei-Djarbeng, Anastasia embarked on a research project. Her focus was on formulating a unique bar soap using the leaf extract of Azadirachta indica, commonly known as Neem. This tree is renowned for its medicinal properties and is highly regarded in Ayurvedic medicine.

Motivated by the incredible potential of Neem for enhancing skin health, Anastasia aimed to create a bar soap that could address various skin conditions. Her project achieved resounding success, receiving enthusiastic feedback from early users of the Neem soap.

Reflecting on her journey, Anastasia Acquah expressed deep appreciation for the Bachelor of Technology program at KsTU. She believes it empowers serious students with practical skills that can lead to self-employment upon graduation. "I am proud of myself, proud of my supervisor, and proud of KsTU," she remarked.

Anastasia's venture not only demonstrates dedication and innovation but also highlights the value of higher education in nurturing budding entrepreneurs. It underscores the importance of harnessing natural resources for the betterment of society.

As Ms. Anastasia Acquah continues to advance in the business world, her Neem soap serves as a testament to the transformative potential of ideas born within the lecture hall. It stands as an extraordinary reminder of the countless opportunities awaiting those who possess both vision and the courage to pursue their dreams.
